This guide provides a straightforward method for scanning notes using your iPhone. Whether it’s for capturing handwritten notes, printed documents, or other materials, you’ll learn how to quickly digitize them using your device’s built-in features.

Step 1: Open the Notes App

To begin scanning notes, you first need to open the Notes app on your iPhone. If you cannot find it, swipe down on your home screen and type “Notes” in the search bar.

Step 2: Start a New Note

Once the app is open, create a new note by tapping on the New Note icon, usually found at the bottom right corner of the screen.

Step 3: Access the Scanning Feature

To access the scan feature, tap on the camera icon in the toolbar above the keyboard. From the options that appear, select Scan Documents.

Step 4: Position Your Document

Hold your iPhone over the document you wish to scan. The camera will automatically detect the document’s edges. You can adjust the frame if necessary by moving your device closer or further away.

Step 5: Capture the Scan

Once the document is positioned correctly, the camera will capture the scan automatically. If needed, you can manually capture the scan by tapping on the Shutter button.

Step 6: Review and Save the Scan

After capturing, you will be taken to a review screen. Here you can crop, rotate, and adjust the scan as needed. Once you’re satisfied with the result, tap Save.

Step 7: Finish Your Note

Your scanned document will be added to the note. You can add text or additional scans if desired. Don’t forget to tap Done to save all changes to your note.

Extra Tips & Common Issues

Here are some tips to enhance your scanning experience:

  • Ensure your document is well-lit for better clarity in scans.
  • Using a solid surface can help stabilize the document for clearer scans.
  • Check the quality of the scans; re-scan if the document appears blurry.
